"Poison is overigens al hun vijfde cd. Hiervoor heeft het kwartet de productionele hulp ingeroepen van Andy Kravitz, een ervaren man die onder meer werkte voor Juliana Hatfield en Joan Osborne. Hij heeft de plaat voorzien van een 'groot' geluid, maar heeft gelukkig de rauwe randjes van de rootsrock van de twee echtparen er niet teveel vanaf geschaafd. Dat schaven kan in een wat rustiger nummer als "Truly" prima, maar in de een meer uptempo nummer als het titelnummer of "Hell or High Water" heeft Kravitz dat gelukkig achterwege gelaten. The Hundred Year Flood spent this summer recording their new album “Poison” with Multi Grammy/ Multi-Platinum/Gold record producer, ANDY KRAVITZ, who brought in legendary music man, TAJ MAHAL to add his magic touch to the track, "Hell or High Water". Soulful songstress, Shannon McNally, also joins the band for the stirring and unforgettable, "Neck of the Woods". This album will prove to be their most rockin’ album yet. This album is a doozy and is a must have for anyone who likes rock n roll, southern rock, pure, sweet honesty and growling tones done American!
A powerhouse quartet, HUNDRED YEAR FLOOD splits the seams of Rock n Roll with their high octane vocals, balls to the wall rhythm and bleeding heart melodies. They deliver their original tunes with gut-wrenching honesty and energetic passion. The members are Felecia Ford (voice and keys), Bill Palmer (guitar and voice), Jim Palmer (drums) and Kendra Lauman (bass).
During an interview on Austin radio station, KGSR, Charlie Sexton said Hundred Year Flood was one of his favorite bands. They have shared stages with Charlie Sexton, Son Volt, Joe Ely, Dave Alvin, Nanci Griffith, Mary Gauthier, James McMurtry, George Clinton, Blue Mountain and many more.
Hundred Year Flood is currently based out of both the artist mecca of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. They have played all over the western U.S., and have toured in Mexico. Hundred Year Flood has opened for both Son Volt and James McMurtry to packed and sold out theatres, and during SXSW 06 they played an amazing 9 gigs in six days. They play southern-fried roots rock that ranges from beautiful folk-rock ballads to gritty, politically savvy country punk; from stark darkness to a frenzied twang. Felecia Ford is a West Texas master of voice, who cut her teeth on Broadway show tunes and the big production theatrical stage, as well as the underground roots scene of Austin. Bill Palmer's songwriting and guitar playing is as steeped in shoegazer Brit-pop as it is in Texas country tradition and folk poetry. Bill's younger brother, Jim Palmer is powerful and nimble simultaneously with his unique drum style, inspired by African pop and American rock. Kendra Lauman roots the music to the ground with her thoughtful and solid bass approach.
